Hello Everyone!

My name is Kate and I am joining in from North Jersey. I am interested in taking this course because I would like to develop my own business helping home owners make their plots of land into successful home garden retreats. I am super invested in learning about how to make gardening more accessible to people and I think that the permaculture design does just that. I am hoping to learn more about integrating this type of design into garden builds to help home owners work smarter not harder. I really believe that everyone deserves the right to access clean and nutritious foods, water and air and I think that can start with helping individuals reconnect with the land. I also believe that reconnecting with the land and our food can help us to resolve many ailments of the mind and body.

My education background is in exercise physiology and nutrition for disease prevention. I am a nature enthusiast, organic gardener, health and wellness enthusiast, foodie and adventurer! After many years in the health and wellness industry working in outpatient hospital settings I am thankful to have been able to improve many individuals lives but I became more motivated by the prospect of helping people on a larger scale and focusing my efforts into creating a business that touched on all of my passions with a goal of preventing illness and ailments through lifestyle. At this time I have started with a blog and a hand full of posts as I gain more knowledge in my weaker areas of understanding, including Permaculture design! I am looking forward to this class and to continuing to build my knowledge base because it will bring me closer to my goals!

Looking forward to learning with you all!

Welcome to the course. Your design business sounds interesting but I suppose I'm kind of biased! I'm sure this course can help you develop your business practices.
