Hi classmates, my name is Sandy Zhang and I live in Shanghai, China. I love gardening, but for a long time the only piece of land that I can play with is my small backyard. Eventually a couple of years ago, my passion towards the agriculture made me to rent a small farmland 5 hours drive from Shanghai. Currently the farm is still ran by local farmers in the traditional way,  but I dream about someday I could be there to run my own eco-friendly farm. I learned about permaculture concept a few years ago and have been trying some skills in my backyard here and there. Now as I'm taking a sabbatic leave, I think it's the best time to learn it in a more systematic way. I'm also looking forward to exchanging ideas and learning from all of my classmates.
