Research and discussion around permaculture principes is ongoing. Many other writers besides Holmgren have proposed design principles. Bill Mollison's books do not specifically describe permaculture principles but during later years Bill and others have derived principles from his work. Ten years ago permaculture teacher and designer Ethan Roland Soloviev found 96 explicit or implied permaculture principles described in over a dozen books. Some were almost identical with subtle variations. See the attached document for his chart of principles.
