About SNAP-Ed-NY-Southern Finger Lakes Region and the CATCH Program
SNAP-Ed NY-Southern Finger Lakes Region serves Steuben, Chemung, Tioga, Tompkins, Yates, and Schuyler Counties with innovative programming – both virtual and in-person – that helps people eat healthy and save money. Our team includes nutritionists, educators, and senior leadership with experience in nutrition, public health, health education, and culinary arts. Individuals who qualify for and/or receive benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) may participate in our free events; schools with at least 50% free or reduced lunch also qualify for our programs, including the CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health) program – a whole-child, evidence-based approach to child health that has been shown to:
- Improve academic achievement
- Produce lasting and positive change in diet and physical activity
- Reduce the rate of overweight and obesity
